In recent years, the bi folding door has really been seen as the market leader in the exterior door market, and when you can see bi folds on TV most nights throughout the year, there’s plenty of evidence to back this up. But over the course of this year, we’ve started to notice that more and more of our customers are opting to go for a large sliding door instead of going for a bi fold door, with the main reason that a sliding door can provide a clear uninterrupted view of a garden thanks to the large panes of glass used. For this project, the customer had a 9 metre by 3 metre aperture made at their house and wanted to have an entrance door of some description fitted in the space, but wanted to have a view of their garden, so we suggested that they have a look at the Dutemann Glide S sliding door that we have on display in our showroom, due to their thin sight lines, and the potential of being 3 metres in height, we believed these would fit the customers requirements perfectly, and they agreed and decided on having a three pane Dutemann Glide S sliding door installed, along with some floor to ceiling windows in other sections of their house so they could see their garden from multiple different angles. As you can see from the images with this project, was quite a big job, but the finished results speak for them self, and we can’t wait to see how this customers home will look once the whole project has been completed.
